Watauga Equity Management, Inc. is a private capital management firm based in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. We offer our services to individual and institutional investors.
Our Fiduciary Mission
Our mission is to earn above average investment returns on behalf of clients -- while more effectively managing risk. Except in our Convergence Investment Management service, we do not offer individualized investment advice or financial planning, but engage in proprietary investment and trading strategies on behalf of clients. However, we take great pains to make sure that our clients understand the investment vehicles we use, as well as the risk and return potential of our proprietary strategies. We will not accept clients unless we have at least a general understanding of the suitability of a prospective investment in one or more of our strategies. Even where we accept a client, we may suggest that he or she reduce their capital commitment in light of their overall investment objectives and risk profile.
It is important to understand that the path to superior investment results is not without an assumption of risk.
Our methods differ significantly from the long-only and "buy and hold" approaches of traditional mutual fund managers and conventional investment advisors. While we use investment vehicles that are based on market averages, our returns are usually not correlated to the overall market's performance.
